Features of the home
Full kitchen with all appliances–refrigerator, microwave, oven, cooking range, and dishwasher. It is well equipped with a coffee maker, blender, rice cooker, toaster, all dishes, pans and most kitchen items. There is also a washing machine, dryer, outdoor gas grill, fax machine and phone with free long distance to the US mainland and Canada, big flat screen TV, and wireless internet. There are lots of books and games. All linens are provided, even beach towels. For your convenience, we also provide shampoo, soaps and laundry detergent! Beach toys, boogie boards, beach umbrella and chairs for the beach are available as well. All you need to do is bring yourselves!
Our 6-person hot tub was built-to-spec with custom artwork by Natural Salt Pools. The sanitization of the water is all done with the salt chlorination process, which is very gentle, unlike the harsh chemicals used in standard hot tubs. The spa is fully automated, so it can be remotely controlled from inside the house. The solar panels use the sun for the initial heating, and the electric heater is available as a boost on cloudy days
At the foot of our street is Lanikai park, which has a new playground, a basketball court, an open field, and a workout station. If you enjoy an early morning jog or a late afternoon walk, the 2.2 mile Lanikai loop is just the place. There is also a trail behind the house which leads to several World War II bunkers perched at the top of the mountain, allowing for even more spectacular views of Kailua, Lanikai Bay and the Mokulua Islands.
Kailua beach!–swimming, snorkeling, kite surfing, wind surfing, wave surfing, boating, boogie boarding, and kayaking. In Kailua town there is shopping and many choices of restaurants- from high end to fast food. There are now easy-access bicycle stations in Kailua if you’d like to rent a bike. Just swipe your credit card, and when you are done, return your bike to one of the two stations. If you enjoy golf, many courses abound nearby for you to choose from.
There is public transportation one block from the house, and Kailua town is 5 minutes by car.
